Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering: Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
~Colossians 3:12 & 13
Showing Yourself Faithful
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service. ( 1 Timothy 1:12)
When D. L. Moody found his life in Christ, he looked for some opportunities to teach at a church, but no one wanted to use the uneducated man. He started his own Bible study in a shoe store, and it wasn't long before kids were coming out of the woodwork. People couldn't help but notice him because he was bearing fruit, and few left such an imprint as his upon the world.
Paul said, "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who strengthened me. Because He considered me faithful, putting me into service" (1 Timothy 1:12). Show yourself faithful by exploiting the opportunities around you. The needs of people are everywhere, so what are you waiting for?
A man in one of the churches I served often expressed his frustration with his job. For 20 years he's been working as a construction worker, and he hated it! Frustrated with his career, he wondered why God wouldn't call him out of there.
I asked him if he had ever expressed dissatisfaction about his job with his fellow employees who weren't Christians. He said, "Oh sure. I complain right along with the rest of them."
I continued, "What do you suppose that does to your witness?" He was a little startled by my question. I added, "Do you realize that God has you exactly where He wants you? When you assume your responsibility to be the person God wants you to be as a construction worker, He may open a new door for you."
The Holy Spirit must have brought conviction because this man became a missionary at work. He displayed concern for the needs of his coworkers and their families and soon had a series of witnessing experiences to share. Within six months an opportunity arose and he left construction work. And all because he started to bloom where he was planted.

Prayer Shawl Ministries is a wonderful group of ladies who use their gifts to create shawls, caps and scarfs that are given to people who need uplifting through their time of suffering or time of joy. The items are blessed and packaged and sent all over the world to our troops for protection, or to a mother who has just given birth, or even a college student going away for the first time who will need a "Hug from God" when they wrap it around themselves for comfort and support.
" I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me ~Psalm 23
Each garment begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient and those are continued throughout its creation. "Around our gathered circle, this shawl has passed through our praying hands and been blessed by our loving hearts" is inscribed inside each one and upon completion, a final blessing is offered and it is delivered in love. These ladies have received dozens of thank you letters from grateful recipients and their families expressing their joy.

Join us for all of the fun!
Zebulon Senior Youth
ZUMC's Senior Youth meet every Sunday evening at 6:00 till 7:30 for fellowship and devotion. They start their meetings with an open prayer and then move into devotions and scripture. The meeting is an open-floor directive allowing all topics to be discussed that our youth are experiencing in their day-to-day lives.
We stick to a Christian foundation and respect each other. Each year, a president, vice president and secretary are voted in. They direct the flow of the meeting and keep everyone on topic. They are also the ACS representatives for our youth and council members for the church. The senior youth leaders are David and Caroline Tuck along with Director Randi Kennemur. Together, we work directly with the youth on fundraisers, missions and meetings. Our church enjoys Youth Sundays where the youth are conducting the service as a way of expressing our love for the church and something special for our members.
Our Missions consist of 4 groups:
International
National
State
Local
Each year we have the youth look for 1 mission in each of these 4 groups that they really feel strongly about, investigate it and submit it to the group to be adopted for that year. We then raise money through diffrent fundraisers. We also assist our senior church members with projects at their homes along with projects on the church's grounds and our community.
We invite you to come to our meetings and join us in sharing in Jesus's word.
ZUMC's youth program is very excited to announce the beginning of the Jr. Youth group starting September 11, 2011 for kids who aren't old enough to be in the Senior program. We welcome school grades 5th through 7th and have meetings Sunday evenings 6:00-7:30pm. This is ideal for families with siblings at diffrent ages who still want to take part. Parents are encouraged to attend and see what the excitement is all about!
