Our church is participating in a conference sponsored survey to help determine the needs of and for our youth ministry. Everyone is invited--yes, encouraged--to participate by taking this short survey. Click on this link to the survey....
This survey must be completed by December 4th for inclusion in the results.
Our youth will operate a concession stand for the Zebulon Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 4th, in front of the church on Gannon Avenue. Proceeds will go toward the youth program. Youth should plan to remain at church after the 11 o'clock worship service on December 4th to set up the stand in time for the parade.
The Christmas Party for our youth is set for Sunday, December 4th, at 5:30 pm, at the church. Youth are encouraged to wear their ugliest or craziest Christmas sweater or T-shirt. Good food, good fellowship, and good lesson!
The ZUMC Preschool is hosting the 13th Annual "Pancake Supper with Santa" on Friday night, December 9th, 5:00-8:00 pm, in the church Fellowship Hall. This is one of several fund raising events for the preschool. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children 3-10 years, and free for 2's and younger. Call the preschool (919-269-6554) for tickets or buy them at the door.
Children, infants through 5th graders, are invited to a Christmas party, Saturday, December 10th. We'll meet at the home of Sonya and Brent Boykin at 4:00 pm for dinner, followed by a caravan drive to Hill Ridge Farms, returning to the Boykin's home for s'mores and hot chocolate. After the 11 o'clock worship service on December 11th, the youth will be going to lunch at a mystery location--more later. This event will be the final youth activity for 2016. But 2017 promises to be pretty awesome...stand by for more!
The Puppet Ministry presents its 6th annual Night of Christmas Theatre, Sunday, December 18th, at 6:30 pm, in the church sanctuary. This program is always an exciting event for children, teenagers and adults. The Hoobie Toobies will return (Don't know what that is? Come to find out!). Cookies and punch during intermission.
The Sanctuary Choir with orchestral musicians will present the Christmas musical "I Have Seen the Light" during the 11 o'clock worship service on December 11.
The Jane B. Jennings Handbell Choir will be resuming practice on January 9th 2017 at 7:00pm (in the Wesley classroom across from the sanctuary). If you are interested in playing handbells, please come!! All are welcome!! If you have any questions, feel free to contact Janet Lewis 919-235-2536.
Bring the whole family for dinner and activities each Wednesday evening, 6-8pm.
Reservations need to be made by filling out a reservation slip during Sunday worship and placing it in the offering plates, or by calling/emailing the church office by noon Tuesdays for the following Wednesday night meal.
Sunday Morning Cup O' Grace
Cup O' Grace provides an opportunity for coffee and fellowship each Sunday beginning at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall. All are invited to stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee and something to eat and fellowship with your church family! Look forward to seeing you at Cup O' Grace!
During Sunday School (9:45-10:45) and during the 11 o'clock worship, children ages infant to 2 years old are welcome in our nursery (Room 103, lower level). Children 3 years old through 5th grade are invited to participate in Sunday School (9:45-10:45) and to stay for the 11 o'clock worship in the sanctuary for the Children's Moment, a short lesson based on the pastor's sermon topic. Then the children go downstairs for Children's Church. Parents and guardians should pick up their preschoolers in Room 104 and the older children in the Music Room after worship. PLEASE USE THE SIGNOUT SHEET WHEN PICKING UP YOUR CHILDREN.
