People: Christ is risen indeed! Hallelujah!

*Prayer (praying responsively)                            Leader: When everything was dark                                                                            Terry Matias

and it seemed that the sun would never shine again,
your love broke through.

People: Your love was too strong,
too wide,
too deep
for death to hold.

Leader: The sparks cast by your love
dance and spread
and burst forth
with resurrection light.

People: Gracious God,
We praise you for the light of new life
made possible through Jesus.
We praise you for the light of new life
that shone on the first witnesses of resurrection.
We praise you for the light of new life
that continues to shine in our hearts today.

All: We pray that the Easter light of life, hope and joy,
will live in us each day;
and that we will be bearers of that light
into the lives of others. Amen.

The Wesley Fellowship Sunday School class began the study of MESSY PEOPLE by Jennifer Cowart on June 26th and will continue it for 6 weeks. And who are MESSY PEOPLE? You and ME and lots of characters in the Bible. God loves to use MESSY PEOPLE! We will dig into the lives of biblical heroes who were MESSY PEOPLE just like us but who were used by God in powerful ways. We will examine the MESSY stories of Rahab, the prodigal son, Josiah, Mary, David, and Daniel. We will learn how God can use broken people, restore damaged hearts and relationships, give us power to handle our critics and help us deal with the hard moments of life. Come join us at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings and discover that we don't have to just endure messy lives but can actually learn to thrive with God's help and guidance.
