Opportunity to Grow:

Fall Bible Study Update:

Our Fall study is on the book God Unbound by Dr. Elaine Heath. This book gives us insight into how to navigate times of change as a church. Dr. Heath refers to the New Testament book of Galatians as a basis for her teaching. This Fall, there will be TWO opportunities for you to join a small group to explore this fascinating book with others!

 

~A day time study is being held on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-2:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Here are the remaining dates: November 23, 30, December 7 and 14. Sue Kiryluk and Dianna Leya are co-leading this study. If you are interested, please contact Sue at 919-612-8176 or Dianne at 919-524-7575. It’s not to late to join this group.

 

~An evening study is being held on Thursdays from 6:30-8 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Here are the remaining dates: December 2, 9 and 16. Terry Matias and Pastor Liz are co-leading this study. Please contact the church office at 919-269-9408 if you are interested. (Please note: Books are $10.00.)

 

Opportunity to Serve:

ZUMC 9thAnnual Thanksgiving Meal November 25th Thanksgiving Day

      FREE! Thanksgiving meal that starts at 11:00am and lasts until the food is gone.

  Thanksgiving is a time for friends and family to come together and share a meal in the spirit of gratitude for all we have. Covid 19 will make things different this year, but just as special. Zebulon United Methodist Church is extending a very special invitation to our friends in the community.

 

November 28th - The United Methodist Student Day Special Offering will be received on Sunday, November 28. Please plan to give to support United Methodist students as they pursue their educational dreams. Checks can be made to ZUMC with "UM Student Day Offering" on the memo line. Thanks so much for helping to answer these students' prayers!

 

The Mission Team is putting together gift bags for the residents at Coventry House. We are asking the congregation to provide lap blankets. The delivery to Coventry House will be December 17th. Please bring the blankets to church on Sunday mornings and leave in the Narthex or drop off at the office any time prior to the 17th. We need at least 22 and if we get extras, we will find a place for them to go. Thank you!

The ZUMW are sponsoring our Bow Tree.

Please support our efforts to provide a love offering to a local family or families. For $1.00 per name, you can remember or honor a loved one with a white or red bow on the Christmas tree in the narthex during this most holy Christmas season. Please pick up your form from the table in the Narthex and place the form in the offering plate or drop it by the office. Make checks to ZUMW.

 

 

 

 

Community Events

The EAST WAKE HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION will proudly host an ALUMNI BANQUET on December 3rd, 2021, to raise funds for future scholarships for "underserved East Wake seniors with unlimited potential! To date WE have awarded TEN $5000 scholarships to remarkable young people! WOLFPACK legend Dereck Whittenburg will be the evening’s keynote speaker! The event, held at "The Barn at King Hill Farm" in Knightdale, will include a catered meal as well as live music by Jazz musician Geno Marriott & his "SPIRIT of Jazz" group! Tickets and details are available at ewhsaa.com/event/ALL Alumni & teachers & local NCSU hoops fans are invited!

It's not too early to mark your calendars and plan to join us for this amazing service of Communion and Light. Please bring your cell phone (if possible). We will be using cell phone lights to shine the Light of Christ! A special offering will be received for the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund and Project AGAPE Armenia check out (nccumc.org/outreach/project-agape/) for more information.
